Betty L. (Selby) Morman, 85, of Chandler, Arizona passed away on March 22, 2015. Betty was born in Denver, Colorado on July 9, 1929 to Clay and Margaret Selby of Woodrow, Colorado. The third of five children, Betty grew up on the Selby homestead west of Woodrow and, in 1947, was one of four seniors to graduate from Woodrow High School.

On Christmas day in 1947, Betty married Arthur (Art) Paul Morman at the Brush Methodist Church. After a short honeymoon in Estes Park and Denver, Betty and Art settled in the Woodrow area, working for a few different farm/ranch families. They moved to Denver in 1949 so Art could attend Auto Mechanic School, returning to the Woodrow area in the spring of 1951. After farming on their own for a few years, they purchased the Woodrow Grocery Store in 1957, and built an auto & tire shop next to the store, known as Art's Garage. Selling the store and shop in 1965, the family moved to the Gary area to farm. They farmed there for over 15 years. In 1982, Betty and Art sold all of their farm equipment at auction and moved to Brush. While in Brush, Betty worked for a time as a morning cook at Eben Ezer Care Center in Brush, and also cooked at Valley View Villa in Ft. Morgan. Betty's life was always one of multiple duties - mother, cook, farmer's wife. After retiring in 1986, Betty and Art moved to Arizona, where they could be closer to their first two grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Arthur and Stanley Paul; husband Arthur; her parents; and her youngest brother, Roger Selby.

Betty is survived by her daughter Sharon Weiss (Robert) of Chandler; sons Scott of Austin, Texas and Shawn (Jenny) of Chandler; grandchildren Brandon Weiss (Annalee), Staci Weiss Mehlhouse (Mike), Molly and Alec Morman, Lauren, Connor, Anya and Nolan Morman, and great-grandchildren Hunter and Alexandra Weiss. She is also survived by her brother Robert Selby, sisters Marjorie Jacobs and June Haller, and numerous nephews and nieces.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on April 12, 2015 in Chandler, Arizona. A private family service and interment will be held at a later date at the Fort Morgan Cemetery.
