He attended Battle Ground HS, was drafted into WW2,

friend. He received a BA in music and education at WSU
in 1950, Masters in music at the Univ of OR in 1953, and
in 1966 received his Masters in Library Science from the
Univ. of Denver. Clarence worked as a teacher in WA,
OR, and AZ until 1966 before beginning his career as a
librarian at MCC, Mesa and Phoenix libraries until 1989.
After retiring, he became a substitute teacher for Mesa
and Tempe Public Schools and then, Assistant Stage
Manager at Dobson High School, which he did until
2011. He loved working with kids, and would accompany
anyone from school or church on the piano.
His passions include music, piano/organ, cooking,
gardening, teaching and his family. And he especially
loved trivia shows, jokes and making fun with puns! His
community involvements include the Sertoma Club,
Toastmasters, Boy Scouts, Mens Orpheus Choir and
more. He was an absolute delight to be around.
