Robert "Bob" David passed away on March 17, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born in New York City on December 22, 1945 to parents James and Bridget David, one of five siblings. Bob proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, reaching the rank of Corporal. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he earned a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College and a master's degree from the New York Institute of Technology. Robert "Bob" David passed away on March 17, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born in New York City on December 22, 1945 to parents James and Bridget David, one of five siblings. Bob proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, reaching the rank of Corporal. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he earned a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College and a master's degree from the New York Institute of Technology. He married Norine Schreieck on June 10, 1972. They had one daughter, Sheila. Bob worked as a financial analyst with Con Edison in New York for many years before retiring to Arizona in 2002.

Bob was a kind and generous man, always willing to help others. He was an avid reader, and had a great love of history. He was known for his sense of humor, including the ability to laugh at his own misadventures.

Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years Norine David; daughter Sheila David Bakkom; son-in-law Erik Bakkom; grandson Lukas Bakkom; brother Jim David; and brother Rick David, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chandler on March 22, 2017, followed by a graveside service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
